I have gotten some grief lately about
the lack of this letter, but there really hasn't been much to write about.
This past Saturday was the unnamed SIGA event hosted by the Esquires and Latourette clubs and the turnout
was very good. 84 players teed it up and if the Sully's boys had been around it would have been close to 100 players. The
joint venture game was played in the quota format despite some grumblings from members of the club that formally ruled the
roost. As always the game was fair as there were 4 payouts and 4 different teams cashed, they all got to wet their beaks unlike
this lame duck presdient who missed out on the opportunity as Oxbow crossed the finish line ahead of them all. I had mentioned
earlier in the week to some that I thought it would take a hole out somewhere to cash in the Skins pportion of the game and
that is just what happened as Joe Rafferty dropped a duece on the 4th hole to help his group make a few schekles, unfortunately
another member of our group missed a short one previously that would have added to the envelope. Other holes that held up
were Panzas Eagle on 1, Conte's birdie on 6, Woodmans eagle on 10 and birdie on 12... If Woody would have gone to the police
this never would have happened.
A
special thanks to John Pirrone, Jim Fareri Jr and Steven Schwab for doing all the work to make this event run smooth with
no issues.
The next event is the now famous
Esquire memorial on June 1st. If you are playing in this event you need to tell us who your partner is and also what your
group is. Sicne we have been getting a very large turnout for this event, it is imperative that we know who is playing by
no later than this saturday. The event this year will have raffles for some prizes.
The week after the memorial we will take out tools to Architects, and since we will be held to
a very strict headcount, again we will need to have you signed up no later than the day of the memorial.
Best of Luck to
all Squires that are participating in the NYC Am this week.
